The American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment is a high visibility effort to address global warming by garnering institutional commitments to neutralize greenhouse gas emisisons, and to accelerate the research and educational efforts of higher education to equip society to restabilize the earth's climate.

Georgia Tech became a member of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education in 2007.
2008 is the second year that Georgia Tech has particpated in the Sustainability Report Card published by the Sustainable Endowment Institute . Each year, the Georgia Tech's Sustainability Report Card becomes a topic in the Campus' student newspaper, the Technique (published weekly when school is in session, reaches over 10,000 members of the Georgia Tch community).
